The Russian Defense Ministry said a Zircon hypersonic missile was successfully launched in the Barents Sea. It has already been repeatedly test-fired from a navy frigate, but this is a first from a submarine. The missile reportedly flies at nine times the speed of sound and has a range of 1,000 kilometers (620 miles).
